Summer 1938: Desegregation of the University of Kansas
School of Medicine, an exhibit on display on the second floor of Robinson tells the story of Edward V. Williams and how he challenge the system and
won, becoming the first African American student to graduate with an MD from
the University of Kansas Medical Center.

A casual forum for students, faculty and staff to share insights, questions and concerns about culture. Sponsored by the Office of
International Programs with topics that will focus on Black History Month
throughout February.
Multicultural Luncheon

KUMC’s chapter of The Student National Medical Association (SNMA) will host its annual Multicultural Luncheon. Enjoy a variety of dishes for a $5 contribution. Proceeds from event will be donated to a local charity.

BHM Research Day Presentation: The
State of Health of Wyandotte County - The H.E.A.T. Project

Jerry Jones, Executive Director of the Community Health Council of
Wyandotte County will discuss the H.E.A.T. project in Wyandotte County and the debilitating
confluence of health inequities and redlining. A panel discussion will follow
with Jones and other local agency representatives, community based researchers
and clinicians will share information, their thoughts on the
presentation, recent projects and current issues. Lunch will be provided
to the first 50 attendees.
