EVC's Diversity & Inclusion Awards

The annual Executive Vice Chancellor's Diversity and Inclusion Awards recognize the significant achievements of faculty, staff, departments and organizations that are developing and enhancing a more culturally diverse, competent and inclusive university community.
Each spring, an individual and a group are honored with this award during a special ceremony highlighting their work. The ceremony includes a keynote address focusing on a timely topic, crucial to advancing diversity and inclusion in our community.
Nominations are submitted online and should include the following materials:
  • Two (2) letters of support.  Each letter of support is not to exceed 500 words. Self nominations are welcome, though support letters should come from persons other than the nominee. (see award criteria).
  • New for 2019 - Statement of the nominee's body of work advancing diversity and inclusion at KUMC or in the broader community. Statements should be 500 words or less and may be supplied by the nominator or nominee. Statements are due no later than one week after nomination deadline and can be submitted online. Nominators should notify nominee of the nomination being made to ensure the required Statement is submitted.
  • CV or resume of the nominee (optional, can be provided after form is submitted)
Nominations that do not include the required items will not be reviewed or considered. Please note, the nomination form is only available during the call for nominations period each year. For questions, contact Jennifer Keeton at or ext. 8-3319.

2019 Nomination Extended Deadline: March 19, 2019.  Statement of the body of work due no later than March 22, 2019.
